Tuesday, December 19, 2006 11:32:27 AM (Mountain Standard Time, UTC-07:00) ( General )

I have been pretty quiet the last month or two (and for good reason!!). I have a new gameplan in place for next year along with a couple of new developments that I will talk about in 2007.

I am going to take the rest of the year off from blogging, and will resume at a more frequent pace in the new year. Needless to say, over the last couple of months I have amassed a wealth of info that I would love to share with the community. The majority of this sharing will take place in the form of presentations, mentoring engagements, and training sessions, and articles.

My presentation schedule for the month of January 2007 looks as follows:

  • January 9th - Recording DNRTV episode on Design Patterns (could turn into a series if there is enough interest).
  • January 10th - Lunch and Learn session in Calgary (not sure of location yet) on Enterprise Patterns
  • January 27th - Victoria Code Camp

If you live in Calgary or Victoria, I look forward to seeing you out at one of the presentations.

I pray that you have an amazing Christmas with your friends and family.

See you next year.

It didn't take long!! Because the online payment option is still not functional (merchant account setup is taking longer than I thought) all registrants are working on the honor system!!

As soon as I am able to accept payment I will be sending emails to all the registrants so that they can make payment.

At that time, if there are people who change their mind, their spots will be freed up for other interested parties.

If there are still people who are interested in the Edmonton course please feel free to contact me, as it will help me gauge the interest level for a follow up course in Edmonton in the future.

If numbers are right (and all people who have reserved spots pay when the registration link goes live!!) then there are 2 spots left for the course in Edmonton.

If you are still interested in attending please contact me by email :bitwisejp@gmail.com, or phone me at (403)560-3590.

Thanks

If you like to play with the latest and greatest that JetBrains has to offer, then head here to download the EAP version of ReSharper 2.5. If you have already been using the EAP version, then there is not much I can say about it that you have not already seen.

If, on the other hand, you have not been using the 2.5 release then you are in for a few surprises. Along with tightening up the user interface (which looks really nice now), there are a number of new features that ReSharper users will welcome with open arms.

Instead of me duplicating information, check out the RoadMap for the product here.

Develop with pleasure!!

Scott Guthrie just announced on his blog the public community preview of WPF/E.

If they are pitching this as a flash killer, then from first impressions (given the fact that it runs on Firefox, IE, and Safari) I would say they have taken an incredible step in the right direction.

Install it and play around with the samples. Make sure to check out the demos listed on Scott's blog.

On my machine (Windows Vista) installing the SDK did not allow me to run the samples, so I also installed the CTP of the runtime which can be found here.

Enjoy.

Ever since I posted the course announcement yesterday, I have had a couple of requests for presenting the course out of the country (Europe, Africa, US).

My answer for anyone requesting this is simple. If I can generate enough interest to have 8-10 people register, then consider me there!!
